3. Though it is important to develop your inner beat, the metronom has serveral advantages. It forces you to pace through different literatur and develops your side reading skills.

The point is that Rhythm draws attention if it is not done right. Wrong notes, nobody cares; it actually sounds interesting.

How to play fast?

When I was a kid, I always wanted to play as first as possible. This following video gives a good advice on how to achieve that:

it is about a specific progression, where the thumb has to be imagined already in the next position, so that your change of position is not noticeable.

Another thing is to only play the beats, and memorize those.
